Graduating from high school is a big milestone as it begins a period of growth and learning for the graduate which can include heading off to college to pursue a degree or establishing a career for themselves in the field of their choice. Words of encouragement, some good advice or expressing happiness are always appreciated and needed by the graduates. A graduation card is a good way of letting them know how proud you are of them and personalized messages make a big difference in adding a personal touch to the card. Regardless of your relationship with the recipient, graduation wishes should always include positive messages of affirmation and support.

This can be done by getting a blank card and writing your own message rather than getting a pre printed one. While writing the message, you should show your support to the person who is graduating as after graduation, a person’s adult life is said to start and they have to face new opportunities and difficulties and should know that you will be there if they need you. While the person has to take on adult life on his or her own, knowing that they have support will help them a lot. Since you have passed out of high school yourself, you should include some advice about things such as your learning experience after high school, the problems you faced and how you overcame them. These pieces of advice can help the person who is about to join real life in many ways.

After graduation from high school, the person could be planning on doing something big of their own such as joining a dream college away from home or moving out of their parents’ home. In any case, they require motivation as such steps can be scary and confusing. Using your message in the card, you can boost their confidence by telling them about their good qualities such as their diligence or honesty. They can then look at your message in times of need of motivation during struggles and get a boost of confidence.

You could include some graduation quotes such as,”Your education is a dress rehearsal for a life that is yours to lead.” - Nora Ephron and messages of support such as, Happy graduation! Remember to always stay true to yourself in trying times. It could also have some offerings of wisdom like “Before you act, listen. Before you react, think. Before you criticize, wait. And, before you quit, try.”
